How we do business

As a member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), Lumentum is committed to the highest standards of social, ethical, and environmental conduct and responsibility. Lumentum fully supports the vision and mission of the RBA, and the collaborative approach to improving working and environmental conditions across the supply chain. We have adopted the RBA Code of Conduct within our operations which is embodied in our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

We believe in a quality-first mindset—conducting business efficiently in a sustainable and responsible way. Through our sustainability initiatives, Lumentum is committed to reducing its impact on the environment and developing responsible practices for all our facilities, using guidelines from the RBA Code of Conduct, as well as the principles of ISO 14001.

As a company with global operations, we value and support human rights and respect employment laws wherever we work. This includes promoting safe, inclusive workplaces free from discrimination and harassment. Engaging with our communities and making meaningful contributions to society is instilled in our guiding principles. Lumentum employees are encouraged to make a difference in their local communities through the company’s community involvement initiative.

What we expect from our facilities and our suppliers

The RBA Code of Conduct establishes industry guidelines for social, environmental, and ethical practices. We conduct internal reviews and audits of our facilities to the RBA Code of Conduct to continuously improve our own operations. At Lumentum, we ensure safe work environments, ethical labor practices within our facilities, eliminate conflict minerals from our products, and expect transparency and accountability throughout our supply chain.

We require the same high levels of commitment from our partners and suppliers through our Supplier Code of Conduct. We encourage and hold our first-tier suppliers accountable to attain high-level standards. Using RBA’s tools and approach, we actively monitor our supply chain, where applicable.

Together, we envision an electronics industry that is devoted to leading global sustainability and ethical practices for the well-being of its workers, businesses, and the environment.
